Upcoming Events in Victoria BC

We host small events in Victoria BC and have the following guidelines:

  • Please support the musician by giving them a donation! All donations go to them 😀
  • We have a liquor license, which means we do have to remain within our capacity of 25 people in the space.
  • As our liquor license is “food primary,” we can’t allow dancing, unless the event is designated as liquor free. We’re working on having some liquor-free events in the near future!

Sunday, May 22nd | 2pm to 4pm | By Donation

Linda & Eric James are a duo from East Sooke, BC. Linda and Eric were married in Wales in 1977 and moved to Canada later that year. After 4 years in Fort McMurray, they moved to East Sooke in the early ’80s, where they raised their family. They have been playing/singing music together for many years, bringing their heartfelt, warm repertoire of folk and traditional tunes from the 60s through to today … listening to these two is like going through your record collection and cueing up your favourite songs!

Sunday, May 29th | 2pm to 4pm | By Donation

Twowheeler will be joined on the stage with the Mitchell Sisters!

Jennifer Louise Taylor and Kathy Omalley fell into a musical rhythm on meeting and have been producing effervescent sounds ever since. Their brand of acoustic traditional and eclectic roots music is both uplifting and meaningful.
Twowheeler loves what they do and it shows. With guitar, baritone, ukulele and drums, this duo connects easily with audiences and brings their joy in building a sense of community.

Mondays! | 6:30 to 8:30pm | sign up starts at 6pm | Free!

It’s back! Get back to the basics with our acoustic Open Mic night. Come out with your instrument or borrow our acoustic guitar or keyboard! Please bring 2 to 3 songs (we usually allow 2 songs each to start, with the option of a second round if time allows!). Beginners are most definitely welcome!

*Yes, the open mic is on on Victoria Day & most other holiday Mondays! (Contact us if you’re unsure!)

We are licensed, carrying cider and local beers!

Monthly Event! Thursday, June 2 | 7 to 9 pm | Free!

Share your writing–poetry, fiction, or non-fiction–in a ten-minute slot at our monthly Writer’s Open Mic! Our host is Toni Graeme, author of three published non-fiction books, writer’s coach and member of some writer’s groups around town. All experience levels are welcome–beginners to experienced writers.

We (the host and last months’ audience) would love to hear some more short stories at this event! Stories should be less than 2000 words 🙂

NEW! We are collecting submissions for an anthology. Please see gigiscafe.ca/anthology for info!

Sign up ahead of time at info@gigiscafe.ca or at the start of the event!

Dilly Cooner is a singer-songwriter currently based in Victoria, B.C. Her music explores the highs and lows of everyday life, from love to loss, and from sunny skies to rainy days. Dilly‘s performance is certainly one of heart and joy, you won’t want to miss it!

Sunday, July 24th | 2pm to 4pm | By Donation

Evan Symons has been performing all over Canada for decades and has released numerous albums on his own label.  Evan will be singing and playing acoustic guitar and will mix original and cover tunes including folk, indie rock and the odd country classic. Evan’s live shows are always filled with intensity, humour, melancholy and some mean guitar playing.  Evan currently hails from Texada Island via Vancouver and Prince George.
