Upcoming Events in Victoria BC

We host small events in Victoria BC and have the following guidelines:

  • Please support the musician by giving them a donation! All donations go to them 😀
  • We have a liquor license, which means we do have to remain within our capacity of 25 people in the space.
  • As our liquor license is “food primary,” we can’t allow dancing, unless the event is designated as liquor free. We’re working on having some liquor-free events in the near future!

Mondays! | 6:30 to 8:30pm | Sign up starts at 6pm | Free!

It’s back! Get back to the basics with our acoustic Open Mic night. Come out with your instrument or borrow our acoustic guitar or keyboard! Please bring 2 to 3 songs (we usually allow 2 songs each to start, with the option of a second round if time allows!). Beginners are most definitely welcome!
*Yes, the open mic is on most holiday Mondays! (Contact us if you’re unsure!)
We are licensed, carrying cider and local beers!

Monthly Event–usually the first Thursday of the month.

September 8| 7 to 9 pm | Free!

Share your writing–poetry, fiction, or non-fiction–in a ten-minute slot at our monthly Writer’s Open Mic! Our host is Toni Graeme, author of three published non-fiction books, writer’s coach and member of some writer’s groups around town. All experience levels are welcome–beginners to experienced writers.

*Please note, the event sometimes ends before 8:30, if readers are finished at this point.

NEW! We are collecting submissions for an anthology. Please see gigiscafe.ca/anthology for info!

Sign up ahead of time at info@gigiscafe.ca or at the start of the event!

Maia Rowan is a 18-year-old singer-songwriter and producer from Santa Cruz California. She writes deeply personal jazz influenced alt-rock.

In 2021, she released her debut EP, Fantasy. She’s currently working on a concept album called Remote Avalanche Machine, which is an incredibly vulnerable, strikingly observant record exploring her mom’s recent battle with cancer, as well as themes of escapism and hope.

Caitlin Ciceri is a singer-songwriter from Victoria B.C. who plays both covers and original music around the city. After releasing a few original songs on spotify and apple music, such as “wasted” and “cold heart,” she took some time off gigging during the pandemic to focus on school at the University of British Columbia. After recently graduating, Caitlin is back performing the music she loves around the city of Victoria.

We will have the talented Skye Alexander and Mitch Katz performing here at Gigi’s this September! Mitch Katz is a contemporary songwriter with a penetrating vision on life. His crafty lyrics and compelling melodies bring sensitivity and humour to his music. Mitch’s warm and engaging stage presence allows the listeners to feel right at home.

Skye Alexander’s expressive voice evokes the traditional singers of a bygone era, while her poetic lyrics and Americana-inspired melodies capture modern stories about loss and heartbreak.

Performance is by donation, come on by!
